Pedagogic Approaches
Behind the choice of pedagogic methods at IIE lies an important conviction that can best be expressed by the following three propositions
  • The learning experience must result in the enhancement of the capabilities of the individuals for actual practice
  • Professional life cannot be devoid of values and social responsiveness
  • The knowledge seeker must own up the process of education and must accept responsibility for professional growth and development.
Classroom Learning
This is a methodology meant primarily for theoretical and conceptual input of knowledge, and consolidated by combining "lectures" with group learning and the case method.

The sessions are interactive, encouraging the participants to explore new ideas beyond those enshrined in the books. The ambience thus created makes each session an enriching learning experience.

Based on the trimester pattern, the curriculum has been made dynamic by integrating leading edge teaching material from institutes and universities of national as well as international repute.

Learning Aids
Books and periodicals from national and international sources, which represent state-of-the-art theoretical input, further complement classroom lectures. Emphasis is given to audio-visual aids, use of latest software packages and working extensively
on the internet as a contemporary learning medium. Eminent personalities from diverse areas of specialization will be regularly invited to instill in the participants the practical managerial insights.

Group Learning
Specially developed by IIE, and a prominent constituent of the pedagogic approach, this learning method is based on the assumption that peer group learning is very effective in comprehending issues, to which individual effort often succumb.

It prepares prospective entrepreneurs to be proactive in seeking and acquiring knowledge, rather than having it "imparted" in the classroom.
Free exchange of ideas among members of each group through discussions and presentations not only leverages on time and effort, but also enhances teaching and communication skills besides inculcating the virtue of self study.

Operational Projects
The project work undertaken in the final trimester provides a sharper focus, allowing customization to an individual's specific area of interest through the concept of a bankable project report. The participants work on projects for a period of three months and on completion of the project report they are required to make a presentation to eminent personalities from various resource organizations like banks, financial institutions, NEDFi etc…to name a few.
